1• Upload High-Quality Music: Before releasing your tracks, upload the highest quality lossless files via your distributor, adhering to their specific guidelines. When submitting your music, use FLAC or WAV formats, with FLAC preferred for its efficiency. When you get it, Spotify, for example, checks the integrity and format of your audio files. They then convert these into various delivery formats for different audio quality levels, including Ogg/Vorbis, AAC, and HE-AACv2. Spotify also measures the loudness of each track and the overall release according to ITU 1770 standards and encrypts the files before streaming.

2• Provide Essential Metadata: Include all necessary details like the album title, credits, and release date.Your music's metadata determines how your songs and releases appear on digital platforms. Metadata must be correctly established by your record label or distributor before submission.

Key points include:

‣ Artist Names: Include all contributing artists separately, maintaining consistency in spelling and formatting and avoiding SEO terms.

‣ Artist Roles: Specify roles like main artists, guest artists, and producers at both the song and release levels.

‣ Release Date: Set a release date at least 21 days in advance to allow time for Spotify's editorial review.

‣ Availability: Choose the countries where your music will be available.

‣ Explicit Content: Clearly mark explicit songs.

3• Cover Art: Don’t forget to upload eye-catching cover art for your release. For your album artwork on Spotify, use TIFF, PNG, or JPG formats without quality loss. Ensure the image is at least 640 pixels in width and height, with a 1:1 aspect ratio. 24-bit per pixel sRGB color space should be encoded with directly applied color profiles. Avoid resizing, and do not embed color profiles or orientation metadata.

Perfect your release process and maximize your music's impact!
