At Zil Distribution, we provide Smart Links for your releases, which serve as an all-in-one destination to share with your audience. These links can also be used as Pre-save links before the release date, allowing fans to pre-save your music on various platforms. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up and manage Smart Links.

Requirements for Creating Smart Links

Before creating a Smart Link, make sure that:

  1. Your release has been confirmed by the stores.

  2. All metadata for the release is finalized and updated in the system.

Once everything is confirmed, you're ready to create your Smart Link.

Steps to Generate Smart Links

  1. Access the Metadata Page: Go to the metadata page of the release for which you want to create a Smart Link.

  2. Locate the Smart Links Button: At the top right of the metadata page, you'll see a button labeled Smart Links. Click on it, and a modal will open displaying the different albums within the project.

  3. Choose Actions: For each album, click on Actions to reveal two options:

    • Generate Smart-Link URL: This is the public link you can share with your audience. It leads to a landing page where fans can choose their preferred platform to listen to or pre-save your music.

    • Generate Analytics URL: This link is for your internal use only. It provides access to analytics and performance metrics for your Smart Link campaign. Do not share this link with your audience.

  4. Managing and Regenerating Links: Once you've generated both URLs, you can always return to this modal to view analytics, copy the Smart-Link URL, or regenerate the links through Actions if needed.

Note: Our Smart Links and analytics are powered by Found.ee, an external tool integrated into our platform for comprehensive tracking and reporting.

Understanding the Analytics for Smart Links

The analytics dashboard provides valuable insights into your Smart Link's performance. Here are some of the key metrics tracked:

  • Page Views: Tracks the total number of views on your Smart Link page, showing how many people visited the page.

  • Unique Page Views: Counts unique visitors to the page, filtering out repeated visits from the same user.

  • Click-through Rate (CTR): Measures the percentage of people who clicked on a link after viewing the page.

  • Retailers Clicked: Shows which streaming platforms were selected by fans, giving insight into popular platforms for your audience.

  • Emails and Phones Subscribed: Tracks how many fans subscribed by providing their email or phone number, which can be valuable for future marketing campaigns.

Pre-saves by Platform: The dashboard also shows pre-save metrics per platform. For example:

  • Apple Music: Tracks successful pre-adds on Apple Music, along with the number of emails collected.

  • Spotify: Shows the number of successful pre-saves on Spotify and emails gathered.

  • Deezer, Amazon Music, TIDAL: Tracks pre-saves and email collection on each platform, allowing you to see where fans are most engaged.

Referring Sites: This section lists the websites or social platforms from which fans accessed your Smart Link. This data helps you understand where your promotion is most effective, whether through Instagram, your website, or other sources.

Top Countries and Cities: Identify the top countries and cities where fans are engaging with your Smart Link. This information is helpful for planning future targeted promotions or tour locations.

With this setup, you can track your campaign’s performance and optimize future releases based on detailed audience insights. Remember, the Smart-Link URL is for your audience, while the Analytics URL is solely for your internal metrics.

Happy promoting with Zil Distribution!
